Front-only FM big brake Kit for NA/NB with red 6-piston Dynapro calipers

Note: we would rather see you install a properly balanced kit that addresses all four wheels - but if you only want front brakes, here you go. This setup works best when paired with a rear upgrade as well.

All of our big brake kits use Wilwood Dynapro calipers up front. This caliper is stronger and stiffer than the older Dynalite usually used. The advantage is a firmer pedal and easier modulation with a much better pedal feel - and of course, it means that more of your braking effort goes into braking instead of just deforming the caliper! 

This kit comes with a big 6-piston caliper, which is overkill for street use but will withstand hard track use. It's what we use on our 500 hp track car. The calipers are powdercoated red because everybody knows that's faster. This is the front half of our Big Mama Jama setup.

The piston sizes in the calipers have all been chosen for compatibility with the Miata's master cylinder. There's no need to change out your master cylinder. The pistons on the 6 piston caliper are staggered for even pad wear and the big fat pad offers lots of heat capacity. Due to a stiffening bridge cast into the caliper, pad changes are a bit more difficult with this caliper than with the four piston version.

The standard pad with the kit is the Wilwood BP-10, a street, and autocross pad. Stage 1 kits use the BP-10 up front and a similar Porterfield R4S in the rear. You'll probably want more aggressive front pads such as our BP-20 or BP-40 for track use. We're unable to remove pads from the kit. 

The calipers are wrapped around a 2-piece rotor specifically designed for this application. This rotor is unique to Flyin' Miata's kits and is a slotted rotor made in the US from Wilwood's proprietary Spec 37 compound. This metal gives a very long life as well as dimensional stability under rapid temperature changes. It's the best rotor we could find, so we made it standard on all our kits.

Will they fit your wheels? Probably, if your wheels are 15" or larger, but don't assume - unless you know for sure, please check with our template.
